HAZMAT Situation at AnalTech
At around 6:30 a.m. Monday, a vehicle accident involving two pickup trucks sent one of the vehicles off of the road and into the AnalTech building of Newark, Delaware. The truck caused serious damage to the exterior of the building as well as the facility’s laboratory. After the crash, first responders noticed an odor seeping from the newly-formed cavity, prompting the arrival of a HAZMAT team to properly handle any possible spills or leaks.
Although officials have yet to uncover what materials may have been damaged in the accident, the scene was eventually deemed safe after three hours. The drivers of both vehicles were hurt in the accident, however no other injuries were reported. This incident is still under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
